Is the legacy of Downtown entrepreneur Michael Cornthwaite guiding the direction of East Fremont's Container Park? Cornthwaite is the owner of the Downtown Cocktail Room and co-owner of Emergency Arts, The Beat Coffeehouse & Records and Oscar's Beef, Booze & Broads. The 1.5 acre Container Park will mirror food, bar and cultural elements from all of Cornthwaite's ventures when the first phase of the Downtown project opens in July. Repurposed shipping containers will also create a mini-retail district that includes boutiques and galleries, adding to the al fresco mix of dining concepts.

Following Eater Vegas' exclusive confirmation of Los Angeles celebrity favorite Pinches Tacos opening their first Nevada outpost inside the park, new confirmations indicate the direction of the upscale fast food options.

Pinches Tacos will occupy "Building 6," in reality a 640-square-foot shipping container with room for 25 seats. The single story, rectangular structures will each be custom designed for the food and beverage vendors. Retailers will occupy smaller prefabricated cubes. Plenty of seating options are being created for visitors walking around the park, including areas under shade canopies.

In Building 7 will be The Bar, or possibly called The Container Bar, the name chosen for its LLC by Cornthwaite and his Future Restaurant Group.

The Las Vegas Sun had previously reported the park will feature three taverns The Boozery, VIP Bar and a wine purveyor named Bin 702, although current site permits and company filings have yet to confirm these tenants.

Cornthwaite will also be creating an off-shoot of his Beat Coffeehouse called The Beatnik. And his Pork & Beans beer and sausage concept, one of the earliest rumored tenants of the park, will finally become a reality. The sausage vendor will offer less internal seating than its counterparts. A whole corner is taken up with beer kegs, but the space will feature a take-out window.

Big Ern's BBQ, already operating a temporary location on Seventh Street across from the park construction site, will also create a walk up order window in their container with less than 20 seats inside.

And for even more meat choices, The Charcuterie will offer selections from a small display cabinet and serving station, including options created on a panini grill and paired with yet more wine and beer selections.

The food vending containers have yet to arrive onto the Fremont Street site. Currently under construction is the arched exterior shell for the 360-degree Vortex Immersion Dome, a mix-use space to feature film and music events. Phase one of the Container Park is scheduled to open in July, with the entire operation running by the fall.
