Café de Cebu, a small Filipino-styled restaurant but with an Asian fusion menu, has opened on the Westside. They offer native Visayan dishes and recipes they call "exotic," but are wildly popular in Cebu, the oldest city in the Philippines.

Traditional favorites include their version of ngohiong and longsilog plates with the familiar fried egg and sausage. In March, the cafe fortuitously won a contest to receive a 70-pound PigOut Roaster to help perfect the Cebu-style lechon, including their daily pork belly special.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the cafe is experimenting with daily deserts listed on a chalkboard, including taho, a sweet tofu, and turon, a banana roll dish.
