Spring is in the air, and that means a whole new batch of restaurants, nightclubs and pool parties are ready to open. Perhaps the biggest is are the MGM Grand when Hakkasan brings its five-story restaurant and nightclub to Vegas. Two new pool parties debut at Mandalay Bay and Tropicana. And Mandalay Bay returns to the nightclub world with Light, a joint project with Cirque du Soleil. Downtown gets in on the action with three restaurants and bars entering the fray. And Michael Mina is perhaps the biggest name chef on the list, debuting his Pub 1842 at the MGM Grand, followed closely by Shawn McClain's pizza joint designed by David Rockwell opening in Aria and Bradley Ogden making his return to Vegas. Here's a look at what's on the horizon for restaurant and bar openings for spring 2013 in no particular order.

Pub 1842
Location: MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: June 2013
Michael Mina's gastropub concept, Pub 1842, replaces his own MGM Grand seafood restaurant Seablue. This time around the focus will be on craft beer, snacks, shellfish, sausage and burgers within a vintage-design setting.

Carmine's
Location: Forum Shops at Caesars, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: May or June 2013
The New York outpost of Carmine's plans to open a 25,000-square-foot, two-level restaurant. Look for family-style Italian food in the former Planet Hollywood space.

Chronic Tacos
Location: Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road
Opening: April 2013
The second Vegas location for Chronic Taco will sit inside the Palms food court, The Eatery. The franchise likes to combine burritos and tacos with an edgy design aesthetic.

Daylight
Location: Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: May 25
The Light Group plans to open Daylight Beach Club in the vein of Ibiza's Ushuaia. The nightclub and beach club can fit 2,182 revelers round the former Landshark Lagoon pool. The 4,400-square-foot pool will feature 70 daybeds, 23 cabanas and two bungalows. Look for deejays such as Skrillex, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Alesso, Baauer, Nicky Romero.

Hakkasan
Location: MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: Nightclub April 18, restaurant May 3
The massive club will take up 75,000 square feet over five levels filled with the restaurant and lounge as well as a new nightclub component, something unique to Las Vegas. Inside Hakkasan plans to have a similar Chinoiserie decor to the flagship, Michelin-starred London location.

La Comida
Location: 106 S. Sixth St.
Opening: April 29
Michael Morton's Downtown Mexican restaurant has stripped a Sixth Street building to its bones and aims to rebuild with a 25-foot cocktail bar and outside dining on a newly created patio area. Look for a large selection of tequilas and a pink neon monkey.

Light Nightclub
Location: Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: April 24
From Cirque de Soleil and The Light Group, the former Rumjungle space at Mandalay Bay will be transformed into The Light Nightclub. The 38,000-square-foot venue will include an enormous video wall, an elevating DJ booth and Cirque du Soleil performers, including winched dancers dropping from the ceiling.

Mingo Kitchen & Lounge
Location: 1017 N. First St.
Opening: April 2013
Mingo Collaso already has Mundo at the World Market Center. Now he plans to open Mingo Kitchen and Lounge, a more casual concept with American (and likely Latin-influenced) small plates and cocktails.

FIVE50 Pizza Bar
Location: Aria, 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: May 2013
Skybox Sports Bar & Grill shut down to make way for FIVE50 Pizza Bar, a new concept from Shawn McClain of Sage fame. Expect to find pies with a twist on East Coast and Sicilian-style pizzas. While the name FIVE50 refers to the temperature at which the pizza is cooked, it also represents the time the restaurant offers a special happy hour daily.

Velveteen Rabbit
Location: 1218 S. Main St.
Opening: April
The Velveteen Rabbit takes over a vacant space ravaged by fire. This lounge named for a children's book plans to leap onto the scene this month. Look for retro cocktails as well as punch served by the bowl and glass. Many of the furnishings here were found at second-hand stores.

Bagatelle Beach Club
Location: Tropicana, 3801 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Opening: April 11
The long-awaited beach club arm of Bagatelle makes its debut on April 11 for friends and family.

Hops & Harvest
Location: Tivoli Village, 400 S. Rampart Blvd.
Opening: May
Bradley Ogden makes his return to Las Vegas with Hops & Harvest, a restaurant focusing on beers and farm-to-table food, in Tivoli Village. Yes, his infamous burger will be on the menu.

Atomic Liquors
Location: 917 Fremont St.
Opening: Late April
The historical cocktail bar that holds the oldest liquor license in Las Vegas plans to open the 2,500-square-foot historical space by late April. The bar, originally built in 1945, plans to offer a beer garden, live music and a theater.
